Alpaca Industry News
Notice from Our Board: July 16, 2008
Dear MAPACA Members,
During our April membership meeting we presented our progress on the initiatives the Board had undertaken. You will recall these centered on bringing improvements and efficiencies to our organization’s business processes and member services. We are pleased to inform you of further developments that are in alignment with the initiatives your board has been communicating to you throughout the year.
Effective immediately the MAPACA newsletter will be transitioned to a quarterly publication. In addition to streamlining costs, this will allow us to implement upgrades to the publication itself and the advertising opportunities to members. We plan to launch the newsletter in the October/November timeframe to coincide with our Fall meeting and seating of the new board. In the meantime any communications requiring membership-wide distribution will be via email.
We are also finalizing our rollout of the Request for Proposal (RFP) process which we began last year. In conjunction with an announcement we will post a RFP on the MAPACA website for all significant services or products to ensure the organization receives competitive prices and remains current with services and products available to like entities. This will also enable us to ensure that all contractors are consistently reviewed on a recurring basis. In the upcoming days RFPs will be made available for Newsletter Creation & Publishing Services and Jubilee Event Manager, and Sealed Bid Applications for Halter Show Superintendent and Fleece Show Superintendent,. As with our previous RFP postings, these will be available on the MAPACA website - http://www.mapaca.org/pages/aboutmapaca/RFPs.html. Any items submitted are held in strict confidence.
We would also like to remind you of the upcoming election for the Board of Directors. If you have any interest in running please contact the Nominating Chair, Helen Humphries, at helen@silvercloudfarm.com.
