Camelid Veterinarian Continuing Education
Grant Program
The Board of Directors of MAPACA, a non-profit organization, has allocated $10,000, to support continuing education for camelid veterinarians in the MAPACA seven state region. Veterinarians that serve camelid farms in the MAPACA region may apply to MAPACA for a grant of up to $500 to attend an educational program with a primary focus on camelids. A Camelid Veterinarian Continuing Education Grant Application is available on the MAPACA website (link below). This program will cover grant applications for camelid continuing education programs attended during the period January 1, 2008 through December 31, 2008. Applications for grants may be submitted until February 28, 2009.
Applications will be submitted to MAPACA c/o Alice Brown, 458 Main Road
Vineland, NJ 08360 . The applications will then be reviewed by the Board of Directors for approval. Once approved, the MAPACA Treasurer will issue the check to the Veterinarian Applicant. Applications received will be reviewed within 60 days of receipt by MAPACA.
In turn, MAPACA requires that each grant recipient write a summary of the continuing education program that they attended. The information that they submit to complete the grant application process in the continuing education program may be placed on the MAPACA website or published in a MAPACA publication. The summaries will be archived on the website so that members can refer to them as they would like. Summaries of educational programs of particular interest may, on occasion, be printed in a MAPACA publication. Grant recipients may be invited if they would like to present the information that they gleaned from their continuing education program at a MAPACA event.
